Sally Jollands, Global Key Account Manager at Luxfer Gas Cylinders, has been appointed Chair of the British Compressed Gases Association (BCGA) Future Leaders Committee.

The BCGA represents over 100 companies across the industrial, medical, and food gases sectors.  Often referred to as an ‘invisible industry,’ its members, who employ over 19,000 people and generate an annual turnover of more than £2.7 billion, play a vital role in promoting safety, innovation, and best practice.

The Future Leaders Committee brings together emerging professionals from across the compressed gases sector and provides a platform to expand their technical knowledge, develop leadership skills, and strengthen collaboration across member companies.

Membership is open to employees of BCGA member companies who are either under 45 years old, or new to the sector.

Sally brings over seven years of experience in the compressed gases sector to the Chair’s role.

At Luxfer Gas Cylinders, she manages several major global accounts spanning gas and equipment, with expertise in both traditional cylinder products and the company’s growing portfolio of alternative fuel and hydrogen solutions.

Sally said: “It’s an exciting time to be in the gases industry, which is dynamic, collaborative, and full of opportunity.

“As Chair, I want to build on the committee’s fantastic work.

As a young woman in the industry, I am particularly passionate about promoting inclusivity, particularly for women, who remain underrepresented in this field.”

Sally is also a strong advocate for mentoring, which she believes plays a key role in fostering career development and knowledge sharing.

“Mentorship is vital for attracting and retaining talent,” Sally said. “I’d like to help expand the programme by encouraging more experienced professionals to mentor and guide emerging talent.

“There’s real potential to turn our shared experiences into meaningful actions that inspire and engage new members.”

BCGA Chief Executive Ellen Daniels said: “Our Future Leaders Committee is central to developing the skills and networks of the industry’s next generation.

“It was established to nurture the next generation of professionals within the gases industry, providing opportunities for networking and active participation in the Association’s technical and strategic work.

“The committee develops leadership skills among emerging professionals and helps shape the future of the gases industry.

“Sally’s passion, experience, and drive make her a brilliant choice for the leadership role.

“With her appointment, Sally joins a network of rising professionals who are shaping the future of one of the UK’s most regulated and safety-focused industries.

“She embodies the forward-thinking mindset that will drive our sector forward.”
