With over 30 years of experience in the gas cylinder manufacturing industry, Paul brings extensive knowledge of engineering operations and process management.

Paul holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from Brunel University and an MBA from Nottingham Business School, and is a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).


Catherine Manning, Principal Associate, Eversheds Sutherland

Catherine is a lawyer specialising in environmental and health and safety matters.


Catherine advises clients on the full range of environmental issues from contaminated land liabilities and the potential impact of a designation of a site as contaminated land to advising on environmental permitting, waste, emissions and water-related issues.

Catherine regularly provides EHS input into corporate and property transactions and due diligence exercises, including advising and providing drafting to allocate environmental liability and strategies to mitigate the risk/achieve commercial objectives. She routinely works with environmental consultants and manages multi-jurisdictional compliance projects (recent projects include leading an international environmental permit review project for a chemicals manufacturer).


Catherine has extensive experience in advising on highly complex and specialised environmental issues. Chemicals related work is a particular specialism, including REACH/GB REACH, CLP (Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Chemicals)/GB CLP and the BPR (Biocidal Products Regulation)/GB BPR. She routinely advises clients on strategic issues including internal audits, responding to regulatory audits, dealing with customers and suppliers and potential disputes (including data sharing disputes).


Catherine also regularly supports clients in responding to public enquiries (both UK and EU) for example she has supported clients with their submissions to the European Chemicals Agency’s enquiry into the proposed restriction of PFAS chemicals. She has also represented clients at Environment Agency and European Commission meetings and works with PR firms to maximise the input from responses.


Tim Evison, Senior Vice President- Clean Hydrogen Messer Group

Tim Evison is Senior Vice President at Messer SE with responsibility for the development of the clean hydrogen business.
Tim has been with Messer since 1991 and has worked in various European countries, Asia and the Middle East. He is also Chairman of EIGA’s Regulatory and Environmental Council, which has focused particularly on developments around the Emissions Trading System and State Aid, including CBAM.
