Report of the Home Office Gas Cylinders and Containers Committee 1968
Please note: this is a historical document.
For many years the safe design, construction, maintenance and use of cylinders and other containers for the transport of compressed gases by road were the responsibility of the Home Office. This report sets out a good overview of the technical knowledge and the UK policy for the use of gases at it date of publication, in 1968. Whilst much of this knowledge and policy has been superseded by subsequent industry documents, standards and legislation, the technical history remains a useful tool for those wanting an understanding of how we used to operate and how this has influenced the way we operate today.
