Risk control for small pressure vessels: café boilers, bench-top autoclaves, and model steam engines
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have published Report RR1177.
This Report discusses some of the safety concerns around smaller pressure vessels, the correct fitment and operation of their safety devices, carrying out adequate examination, inspection and maintenance, and compliance with legislation, such as the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (1998), the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations, PSSR (2000) and the Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations (2016). It reminds duty holders that they must have effective risk control measures in place to prevent vessel failure and to protect the public and workers.
