The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has issued an exemption for pressure systems forming an enclosure for high voltage (HV) equipment.
The exemption is applicable to any pressure system containing an insulating and interrupting gas and forming an integral part of high voltage electrical apparatus.
The intention is to allow alternative gases to the use of SF6 within the electricity distribution network, that are more environmentally friendly.
Effective from 1 December 2021.
