The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has today announced an indefinite extension to the use of European CE marking, applying to 18 regulations owned by DBT
This will include for (static) pressure equipment.
DBT provide guidance on the use of UKCA marking at: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/using-the-ukca-marking.
BCGA is working with other Trade Associations, such as the Safety Assessment Federation (SAFed) to lobby Government and to get a better understanding of Conformity Assessment and the use of both the European CE and the UK UKCA mark. This work is on-going.
As below, there is still an option to register for the DBT roundtables, where there is an opportunity to meet with DBT representatives’ and to make your views known!
Note that this does not affect:
- Transportable pressure equipment. For advice on conformity assessment for transportable pressure equipment refer to BCGA GN 48.
- Medical devices. The Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has released a statement on the continued use of CE marking at https://www.gov.uk/government/news/ce-marking-recognition-for-medical-devices-and-in-vitro-diagnostics and guidance on the implementation of future Regulations at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/implementation-of-the-future-regulation-of-medical-devices-and-extension-of-standstill-period/implementation-of-the-future-regulations
