BCGA Council broadens scope with new members
The British Compressed Gases Association (BCGA) has expanded its Council with
the appointment of five new members.
James Crossland, Simon Fisher, Andy Tassell, Rob Thorley and Kelly Vasir all join
as Board Directors, with a remit to oversee the work of the UK membership body for
the industrial and medical gases industry.
Committed to stringent quality, safety and environmental measures, BCGA members
employ 19,000 people directly and account for an annual turnover of £2.7 billion.
The new Board members will play a key role in its governance, to ensure that
member companies are supported and informed.
They will also oversee BCGA’s work in communicating with government departments
and agencies, as well standard organisations and other trade associations.
President of the BCGA, Chris Street, said: “The Council plays a key role in the
overall direction of the Association, and we have broadened the scope of
membership with these new appointments.
“Their expertise and insight will drive the continued success of the BCGA as we
move forward.
“We need to ensure we adopt new technologies, keep ourselves relevant, and fully
embrace renewable energies.
“The experience and insight of the Council, drawn from both our existing members
and the new appointees, will ensure we have broad scope and insight to make
informed decisions and shape the future of the BCGA.”
