Latest developments in Oxy-Hydrogen fuel cutting were top of the agenda for one of British Compressed Gases Association’s (BCGA) member groups, which leads safety standards in the sector.
BCGA’s Technical Sub-Committee (TSC) 3 held its quarterly meeting at BOC’s Manufacturing Technology Centre in Wolverhampton, where members of the group were given the opportunity to find out more about the technique first-hand.
Alongside a presentation and live demonstration of Oxy-Hydrogen fuel cutting, members also had the chance to gain hands-on, practical experience with the process.
TSC 3 is responsible for matters relating to the design, manufacture and application of gas equipment for the control and use of industrial, food and specialty gas systems.
It is one of nine Technical Sub-Committees, which each play a vital role in BCGA’s commitment to ‘mission safety’ in the compressed gases industry.
Their work includes supporting the Association’s highly regarded library of technical documents, including Codes of Practice and Guidance Notes, which are used as a point of reference across the industry and in related sectors, both nationally and internationally.
Emily Foster, BCGA’s Technical Manager, said: “This was a very useful opportunity for TSC3 to see Oxy-Hydrogen cutting in action, and we are grateful to BOC for this insight and for hosting our meeting.”
