Steel cylinders are commonly used to contain carbon dioxide. The fitment of a residual pressure valve acts as a safety device which stops the backflow of moisture and other contaminants, preventing internal corrosion taking place. This Position Paper will be used by BCGA to discuss with the Authorities the mandatory fitting of residual pressure valves to steel cylinders containing carbon dioxide.
